“The MIT Curse Strikes Again: Lilliputian Systems file for bankruptcy,” Michael Kanellos, Forbes, August 21, 2014: This article shares other examples of companies spun out from MIT that have failed. Kanellos concludes they were way ahead of the market but by the time they matured, the market had passed them by. We think it’s more a case of Technology Drivers do not perform as well as Need Seekers (Value Innovators). Lilliputian Systems was developing portable fuel cells to recharge mobile phones and laptops. Samsung’s free re-charging stations provided a much lower cost and safer solution.
